Johann Pepusch (1667 – 1752), was a German composer who spent most of his working life in England, where for a time we wrked with George Frideric Handel. Although Pepusch is now best known for his arrangement of the music for The Beggar's Opera, he composed many other works including stage and church music as well as concertos and continuo sonatas such as this work. This fun, easy piece for a trio of three violins is accessible for the advanced beginning ensemble, and all other subsequent chamber group levels.
