Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) is thought to be one of the greatest composers of Western music. He wrote prolifically in his short life for all genres - choral operas and oratorios, chamber works for many diverse ensembles, and symphonic works and concertos for many instruments. Mozart was composing by the time he was 5, and was also a talented violinist and pianist.This piece was written around 1783 and was originally composed for 2 oboes and english horn. This trio for three violins is tuneful and rewarding to play, and accessible to strong intermediate students, amateurs and professionals.
