Rienhold Gliere was born in the mid 1800's in Kiev in what is now Ukraine and died in the mid 1900's in Moskow. He taught at the Moscow Conservatory for many years. His compositions were numerous - ballets, symphonies, concertos, chamber works, film scores and operas. This group of 8 duos was originally written for violin and cello and works very well for violin and viola. Purchase includes all 8 movements.
