Johann Melchior Molter (1696-1765) was a German violinist and composer in the Baroque period. Molter wrote many works for orchestra, several choral works and, among his orchestral works, wrote several concerti for flutes, and some of the first concerti for clarinets. This piece is based on one of his concerti for two flutes. This arrangement for two violins and cello is a beautiful, spritely piece, suitable for advanced students, amateurs or professionals. The left hand work does not venture past third position - however the rhythmic complexity is challenging for some.
