Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) is thought to be one of the greatest composers of Western music. He wrote prolifically in his short life for all genres - choral operas and oratorios, chamber works for many diverse ensembles, and symphonic works and concertos for many instruments. Mozart was composing by the time he was 5, and was also a talented violinist and pianist. This piece was written around 1783 and was originally composed for 2 oboes and english horn. A lovely, easy trio for violin, viola and cello, this piece is mostly in first position, with occasional forays into third position. The rhythm and bow use are very straightforward. An excellent way for intermediate students, amateurs and professionals to enjoy the wonderful music of Mozart.
